Yaniel Miguel Cantelar, Esq. – Partner

Yaniel is a partner at the firm of Zamora, Hillman & Villavicencio. His practice focuses on elder law, with an emphasis on the areas of probate and guardianship administration. He received his bachelor’s degree from Florida International University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While at the University of Florida, he served on the board of the university’s chapter of the Cuban American Bar Association.

Yaniel co-authored a publication for The Elder Law Advocate, Vol. XXIII, No. 1, Spring 2016 titled “The right to counsel – An inalienable right in incapacity proceeding” and co-authored an article for the 2015 Guardianship Intensive Program hosted by the Elder Section of the Florida Bar titled “The Incapacity Process and Fundamental Rights of the Alleged Incapacitated Person.”

Yaniel’s professional memberships include the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar, Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar, Dade County Bar Association and Cuban American Bar Association.
